This is Tiger Hunt by Eugene Delacroix in 1854. The medium is oil on canvas. I like that the colors are dark which make it a more realistic hunt. It's a small painting, only 2'-4 3/4" x 3'-1/4". I also like how the scene is not all on one level. The hunters in the background look like they are coming from around a bend. Each hunter has a bold unique color that sets them apart from one another. The eye is drawn to the hunter in the foreground fighting the tiger but then the eye moves around to the other side to the other hunters.
