Pablo Picasso "Two Women At A Bar"

This is a painting done by Pablo Picasso in 1902, it is an oil on canvas, and currently located at the Hiroshima Museum of Art. This painting came out of Picasso's "blues" in which he used a monochromatic blue tonality which he seems to have chosen because of its association with melancholy. As you can see in the painting, the body language and expressions of the two women are very gloomy and depressing. I chose this painting because I like how Picasso was able to show the emotions of the two women through their body language and through the blueish colors he chose. Although we cannot see the facial expressions of the two women we understand through the painting how they are feeling.
