This piece is called Nirvana and it was painted by Paul Gauguin. This is a post-impressionist painting is an oil on silk it was done in 1890 and is a portrait of Jacob Meyer de Haan. I chose painting because the facial expression of the subject really stood out I also like how if you look closely in the lower right corner you can see the name of the piece written very faintly.
