This is an oil on canvas painting by Rene Magritte called The Empire of Lights. It was made in 1954. I choose this painting because I thought it was awesome how it looks like it could be a photograph. The painting is also very serene looking because of the colors used and the way the artist made the reflection in the water was also very cool.
