pearlstein

Philip Pearlstein's oil on canvas, "Female Model on Adirondacks Rocker, Male Model on Floor", is a provocative 1980 work of art by the American painter. For me, there are two important features in this painting. Firstly, is the exasperation of the couple, perhaps after intercourse or attempts at it. They aren't as tired so much as they are exhausted--of their relationship, perhaps, but of something.
Secondly, the male's position is blatantly Christ-like. The painting is thought provoking to say the least.
