I chose the artwork Cadeau by Man Ray. The word cadeau means gift in French. The piece is an old iron with 14 nails glued
to it. The piece was created in 1921 but
the piece was lost and a replica was made.
The object is 178 x 94 x 126 mm.
I think it is interesting that the title is in French when Man Ray was
an American. I also think that it is
ironic that he glued nails to the iron because it makes the piece completely nonfunctional.
