Alphonse Mucha "Job"

This artwork was completed by Alphonse Mucha in 1898. It is a lithograph poster and is 5'11 x 3'33/4, it currently resides in Courtesy Sotheby's, London. This was one of two advertising posters that Mucha had made for JOB cigarette papers. I chose this artwork because I think that the detail in her hair and the smoke that fills the top space is incredible. The woman's body is being almost completely consumed by her long wavy hair. The waviness of her hair is matched by the wavy lines of smoke filling the air around her. I also found the job monograms in the background very interesting, I think that they add dimension to the artwork.
