Movable Blue is an acrylic on Canvas by Helen Frankenthaler. (1973)
Frankenthaler was a pioneer within her generation, she was an abstract expressionist painter. She often used a technique called "soak stain" which meant that the paint was absorbed by the canvas. I enjoy this painting because I really enjoy how the colors almost look like a watercolor even though they are not. I especially like how the blue in the painting really jumps out at you.
