This is The Banks of Marne by Paul Cezanne. It was painted in 1888 and is oil on canvas. It can be seen at the State Hermitage Museum in Russia. I enjoyed this painting for many reasons. The first because of the reflection in the water. It is very still and calm. The second is for the use of colors. Cezanne uses many of the same colors, such as greens and blues, but it blends well and captures the scene. Also, another part of the picture that I found interesting was the house. The trees and bushes meshed together with blues and greens, whereas the house is the only part that has a shape and structure. It also sticks out because it is white among colors.
