This painting is called Blue Morning Glories by Georgia O'keefe. It was done in 1938 and is an oil on canvas. The reason I like this photo is the perspective she gives the flowers. You get to see the flowers from two different angles, which really highlights her usage of contrasting colors. The top flower allows you to see shadowing (her use of black) with the purples and blues while the bottom flower uses mostly white to highlight the yellow center of the flower. Instead of focusing on one flower over the other your eye moves around because of these opposing colors.
